What is an Usborne Consultant?

If you want to find out more about Usborne as a company or their books, I'll let you do a web search on your own. I know I did, when I heard about the opportunity to become an Usborne Consultant. I hear about work-from-home opportunities all the time; some are scams and some would have me selling products that really don't mean anything to me. I am usually pretty skeptical about any claim that says you can make money working from home at a job that you didn't go to school for. Usually, when I try to find out the details for what would actually be required of me, it's very difficult to get that information, at least before putting down any money! And yet, when I heard that Usborne was about promoting children's books and literacy... I had to take a second look, and a third, and a forth... until I finally signed up.

Being an Usborne Consultant I have the materials and training (ongoing) to have 'Home shows' which means inviting a bunch of people (parents, teachers, nannies, grandparents) to someone's house, talking briefly about literacy, sharing a collection of Usborne & Kane Miller books with them to drool over peruse, and helping them fill out order forms should they want to order any books. The hostess gets free books for hosting and I get to ask if any of the guests would like to host a future home show. And that's it! (It's a bit tricky considering I recently re-located and therefore do not have a large network of people that I can ask to host a home show but, working on that!)

Being an Educational Consultant, I can also reach out to schools and libraries who are always looking for good books and resources.

Then of course there is the website where I can also direct friends and family if they want to buy great books for kids, from infant to teenager. And there are numerous other programs that are available to offer people but I'll keep it simple here.

I think that's it in a nutshell. I just wanted to take the mystery of the title so that if anyone is thinking about joining, come on and join! Let me know if you have any questions!
